Yes, it's called the Lazarus Papers, but nowhere in the movie is there a clue as to what those papers are referring to. The script is badly written IMHO and the actors seem a little perplexed as to where or why the story is going where it goes--which is all over the place.
While The Lazarus Papers is not an action film one would expect from Daniels and Trejo, it is a thriller with fantasy. It has a pace, with a jaw dropping story, mood, and a curious message. Bai Ling and Tiny Lister have small roles and it's done in a way where they have small but impactful roles.
The Lazarus Papers almost gives the impression that everything and everyone is connected, but never brings the idea full-circle. In fact, that’s a pretty apt description of the entire film. Everything is half-done, but never fully realized.
